Reference will be also made to the relevant literature in the History of Doctrine, including general manuals and monographs, as well as to such fathers as Irenaeus, Clement and Origen, Athanasius, the Cappadocians, the Antiochians and John Chrysostom, Cyril of Alexandria, Augustine, Maximus the Confessor and John Damascene.
