Description

This course is a comprehensive survey of the life, works, thought, and theology of St. Basil the Great. Among the works to be studied (in translation) are Basil's Long Rules, Hexaemeron, On the Holy Spirit, Against Eunomios, Anaphora, along with select sermons, letters, and other writings. Special attention will be given to Basil's Trinitarian theology, biblical exegesis, pastoral care, social work, and contributions to Orthodox monasticism.
